Gábor Ivanyos

Gábor Ivanyos received his B.S. degree in mathematics from the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary in 1983, his Ph.D. degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1997, and his "Doctor of the Hungarian Academy for Science" degree in 2010. He is a Research Advisor at the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. His research areas include various topics from computational algebra, in particular complexity of algorithmic problems related to groups, associative and Lie algebras, factoring polynomials, and applications of algebra in computer science, especially quantum computing.
