Houchang D. Modanlou
Houchang D. Modanlou had been an Italian Government Scholar from 1959 to 1967 for the duration of the medical school and spent a 2-year residency in pediatrics, at the University of Rome, Italy. Moreover, he had a rotating internship at Lutheran-Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital, Ohio, USA as well as a residency in pediatrics at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Modanlou obtained a fellowship in neonatology at the University of Southern California, Calif, USA and a fellowship in perinatal Biology at the same University. He was a Professor of pediatrics/obstetrics and gynecology, Director of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship training program, and Chief of the Division of Neonatology at the University of California Irvine, Irvine, Calif, USA. In February 1, 2010, he retired. His areas of interest and experience are rules and regulations governing biomedical research, pregnancy and medical complications, labor and delivery, electronic fetal heart rate monitoring, instrumentations for delivery, care of the normal and ill newborn infants and their problems related to birth injuries, respiratory distress, retinopathy of prematurely, pulmonary pathology, and infections during the neonatal period.
