Past positions: Attending Cardiac Surgeon, Henry Dunant Hospital, Athens (2002-2004), Attending Cardiac Surgeon, Athens Medical Center (2004-2005), Lecturer (2005-2010) and Assistant Professor of Cardiac Surgery (2010-present), Department of Cardiac Surgery, Athens University Medical School. Member of the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS), Society of Thoracic Surgeons (USA), Zollinger Surgical Society (O?, USA), and Hellenic Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery. Clinical experience includes high risk and off-pump CABG, mitral valve repair, complex aortic surgery, TAVI etc. Research interests: thoracic aortic aneurysms, aortic dissection, post-pericardiectomy and pericardial decompression syndrome, blood conservation strategies, robotics, risk stratification models.
