Marco Franceschini was born in Bologna 1950, June 2sd Graduated in Medicine (1977) and Specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) (1981) in Bologna University and Specialized in Neurology in Siena University (1985). European Board of PM&R (1995). Currently from March 1st 2009 he is Clinical and Research Director of Rehabilitation Department at IRCCS San Raffaele Pisana in Rome. Contract Teacher in PM&R Medical Specialization School at Tor Vegata University in Rome Participant at National Scientific Committee of Italian Society of Paraplegia from 1992 to 1995. Vice-President of SIMFER from 2002 to 2008. Honorary Member of Italian Society of Neuro-Rehabilitation. Assistant Secretary of ISPRM from 2008 to today. Investigator in several research projects (6) funded by the Italian Ministry of Health or other Italian Local Health Administration in 2009, 2010, 2012, also Investigator in a Project funded by European Community (2010) with the title “SCRIPT , Supervised Care & Rehabilitation Involving Personal Tele-robotics”. The main fields of research and clinical activities are: Neurological Rehabilitation in Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson patients and also the Translation from Basic Neuroscience to Clinical Rehabilitation and Robotic Rehabilitation. Production of about 110 scientific papers published in International Journals on topics related almost exclusively Neurological Rehabilitation. 38 of these publications are in Journals with Impact Factor.
