Katerina Zajickova graduated with an M.D. degree at the Charles University, Prague, Czech, in 1997. She received her Ph.D. degree at the Charles University, Prague, Czech, in 2003, with a thesis entitled “Candidate gene polymorphisms and postmenopausal osteoporosis.” She received a postdoctoral fellowship at the Calcium Research Laboratory, McGill University, Montreal, Canada, in 2005 (characterization of the CASR mutations in familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia). Moreover, she won the Award for Outstanding Scientific Publication in the field of endocrinology and metabolism, McGill Endocrine Retreat, Montreal, Canada, in 2008. Since 2003, she has worked as a clinical endocrinologist at the Institute of Endocrinology, Prague. Her areas of interest include thyroid and parathyroid disorders and osteoporosis.
