V. R. Khalilov

Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia

V. R. Khalilov received the honors Diploma in physics and the Ph.D. and the D.S. degrees in physics and mathematics from the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University, Russia, in 1966, 1969, and 1978, respectively. Since 1982, he has been a Full Professor at the Faculty of Physics of Moscow State University where he gives courses on quantum mechanics, theoretical mechanics and mechanics of continua, free-electron masers, quantum electrodynamics in the presence of strong external fields, and quantum macroscopic phenomena in strong external fields. His research interest is in quantum field theory and quantum electrodynamics in the presence of intense electromagnetic fields. 26 persons got the honors Diploma and 19 persons defended their Ph.D. theses in physics and mathematics under his leadership. He is an author of monographs and textbooks such as Interaction of Charged Particles with a Strong Electromagnetic Field (Moscow, 1982) coauthored with I. M. Ternov and V. N. Rodionov; Synchrotron Radiation and Its Applications (Moscow, 1982 first edition; 1985 second edition, with revision and addenda) as well as some other in Harwood Academic Publisher (1985) coauthored with I. M. Ternov and V. V. Mikhailin; Exact Solutions of Relativistic Wave Equations (Novosibirsk, 1984; in Russian) coauthored with V. G. Bagrov, D. M. Gitman, and I. M. Ternov; Electrons in a Strong Magnetic Field (Moscow, 1988); Electrons in Strong Electromagnetic Fields (Gordon and Breach Science Publishers, 1996); Dynamics of Classical Systems (Moscow, 1993; in Russian) coauthored with G. N. Chizhov. He received the Prize of USSR State Committee of Higher Education for the Best Scientific Work (1990), the State Scientific Scholarship (1997–2000, Russia), and Moscow Government Prize in the field of natural science (2002).
