Abdul Manaf Ali
Age 55 yrs, male and Malaysian citizen. Graduated with BS (Biology) majoring in biochemistry from The National university of Malaysia in 1979, Master of Science in Radiation Biophysics from the Department of Medical Biophysics, Dundee University and PhD in Experimental Haematology from the Department of Anatomy & Pathology, University of St.Andrews, Scotland. Visiting scientist at Kyushu, Osaka, Okayama, Kyoto and Nagoya Universities, Japan from 1991 -2003. Asian Development Bank Research Fellow at the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota and the National Cancer Institute, Frederic Maryland, USA 1994/1995. I was working as a Science Officer at the Nuclear Energy Unit, Prime Minister Dept from 1985-1986, as a lecturer ( promoted to assoc prof in 1998 and full professor in 2001) at the department of Biotechnology, Universiti Putra Malaysia. In 2006 was invited by the Malaysian Higher Education Ministry to established a new university (Uni Sultan Zainal Abidin). I was appointed as the foundation dean faculty of Agriculture & Biotechnology and in 2009 until 2012 was the deputy vice chancellor (research & innovation). Research interest in immunobiotechnology (monoclonal antibody production) and bioreseource biotechnology ( drug discovery).
