Dr Sally Plush is a lecturer in Chemistry in the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences at the University of South Australia. A position she has held since 2008. She currently leads a synthetic chemistry research group which is engaged with developing optical probes for cell biology. Dr Plush earned her PhD from the University of Adelaide in 2004 after which she was subsequently awarded a two year Government of Ireland Embark Postdoctoral Fellowship. From October 2004 until January 2007 Sally worked in collaboration with Professor Thorfinnur Gunnlaugsson from Trinity College Dublin on the development of luminescent lanthanide sensors. In 2007 Sally moved to Texas, to undertake a postdoctoral fellowship with Professor Dean Sherry at the University of Southwestern Medical Centre at Dallas.
