Tsann Long Hwang graduated from National Taiwan University, School of Medicine, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1977, and finished his surgical resident training at National Taiwan University Hospital in 1982. He became the full-time Staff of General Surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 1983. He was promoted to Professor of Surgery in 1993. He was appointed Chairman of Surgery and Vice President of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from 1994 to 2008. Presently, he is the Chairman of the Committee of Clinical Nutrition and the Committee of Regenerative Medicine of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Lin-Kou, Taiwan. He has served as the President of the TSPEN (1996–2000), and Pancreas Society (2006–2009) in Taiwan. His specialty is general surgery, especially GI and HBP oncology. He has authored or coauthored more than 250 articles. He has actively participated in many global clinical oncology and nutritional trials as a steering committee member, coordinator, or principal investigator. He is also the Regional Editor of Nutrition and Editor of Asian Journal of Surgery.
