Myoungsook Lee

Sungshin Women's University, Republic of Korea


Myoungsook Lee received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from Sook-Myung Women’s University in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and received a Doctorate degree from Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, USA. Since 1994, she has been teaching and researching at Department of Food and Nutrition at Sungshin Women's University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. She received the following awards: Distinguished Research Paper of the Year from Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies and Distinguished Professor in Research from Sook-Myung Women’s University in 2009 and 2012. She published over 170 papers in scientific journals and 21 books. She was a Director of Korean Nutrition Society for the last 10 years and national advisory committees including the Korea Dietary Guidelines in 2005 & 2010 and Guideline for Korean Dyslipidemia in 2009 & 2015. Her research focuses on the effects of nutrigenomics on lipid metabolism in triggering progress of metabolic syndrome and obesity.
