Michael Small

Michael Small is an Australian Research Council Future Fellow and Winthrop Professor of applied mathematics at the University of Western Australia (UWA). Prior to 2012 he had been with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University since 2001. His doctoral and undergraduate degrees are from UWA in pure and applied mathematics. His research interests are in the areas of nonlinear dynamics and chaos, nonlinear time series analysis, and complex systems and networks. His work has covered a range of applications from physiology and epidemiology to granular mechanics, automated musical composition, and gambling.
