Weiguo Li serves as an Associate Professor. From September 2002 till December 2005, he was a Ph.D. student at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Chongqing University. He is specialized in solid mechanics. From September 2000 till June 2002, he was a graduate student of solid mechanics at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Chongqing University. From September, 1994 till July 1998, he was an undergraduate student of engineering mechanics at the Department of Engineering Mechanics, Chongqing University. Since April 2008, he has served as an Associate Professor of engineering mechanics, a Supervisor of the graduate students of solid mechanics at Chongqing University, Chongqing, China. He has done research on thermal shock resistance of ultrahigh temperature ceramics and the failure and its mechanisms of ultrahigh temperature ceramics under coupled thermal mechanical loading at ultrahigh temperature. From December 2005, till December 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Engineering Mechanics, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He has done research on high- temperature mechanical properties of ultrahigh temperature ceramics. He is the Reviewer of Scripta Materialia and Journal of Alloys and Compounds (since 2008). He served as the Director of postdoctoral fellowship at Tsinghua University (2006-2007), as a Member of the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (since 2008).
