Vinicius C. Antao, holder of the M.D., M.S., and Ph.D. degree, is a Medical Epidemiologist at the Agency for Toxic Substances &Disease Registry (ATSDR/CDC), Atlanta, GA, USA. Dr. Antao is trained in pulmonary and occupational/environmental medicine. He leads the Registries Team at the Division of Toxicology and Human Health Sciences, ATSDR, overseeing activities related to the Tremolite Asbestos Registry, the World Trade Center Health Registry, the National Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Registry, and a Disaster Rapid Response Registry. His research interests include new imaging techniques for the evaluation of pneumoconiosis and health effects and epidemiology of naturally occurring asbestos and asbestiform fibers. Dr. Antao is an active Member of the American Thoracic Society, where he is the current Chair of the Planning Committee in the Occupational and Environmental Health Assembly.
