University of Cambridge, United Kingdom

Janet R. Kumita received with with B.S. degree with honors in biochemistry from the University of Waterloo in 1998. She earned her Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto in the laboratory of Professor G. A. Woolley, where she was involved with investigating reversible photocontrol of peptide structure and activity. In 2003, she was awarded an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined the research group of Professor C. M. Dobson at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge. To date, she remains a Member of the Dobson group and is pursuing her research interests, as a Researcher, which focus on studying the mechanism of protein misfolding, on a molecular level, and how biological molecules such as extracellular chaperones modify and influence protein aggregation.
