P. L. Invernizzi was a Research Fellow at the Clinical Mass Spectrometry (Director: Dr. K. D. R. Setchell), and at the Division of Critical Care (Director: Dr. A. L. Salzman), Department of Pediatrics, Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH, USA. In 2000, Dr. Invernizzi completed his 4-year training in gastroenterology at the University of Milan and was licensed as a gastroenterology specialist. In November 2000, Dr. Invernizzi took a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Division of Internal Medicine and Liver Unit of the San Paolo Hospital School of Medicine of the University of Milan. From 2004 to 2008, he had an appointment as a Clinical Assistant at the same division. In March 2007, he has also received an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Clinical Immunology, Department of Internal Medicine, School of Medicine, University of California at Davis, CA, USA. From September 2008, Dr. Invernizzi is the Head of the Hepatobiliary Immunopathology Unit, Department of Internal Medicine, IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas, Rozzano, Italy. Dr. Invernizzi has coauthored 80 original publications in peer-reviewed journals with a total Impact Factor 397. Twenty-eight out of these publications are review articles; Dr. Invernizzi is first or last author in about 50% of his publications. Dr. Invernizzi’s articles have included publications in leading scientific journals such as The Lancet, Ann Intern Med, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and The Journal of Immunology. Dr. Invernizzi has authored 23 book’s chapters and 83 communications at international meetings.
