Xingyu Zhang

Xingyu Zhang was born in Shandong Province in 1963. He got his B.S. degree in physics, the M.S. degree in optics from Nankai University, and the Ph.D. degree in optical engineering from Shandong University. He serves now as a Professor and as a Deputy Dean of the School of Information Science and Engineering of Shandong University. He serves also as the Director of Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Laser Technology and Application and as an Editor of Journal of Optoelectronics and Laser (in Chinese). His research interests include Q-switched solid-state lasers, mode-locked lasers, solid-state Raman lasers, random lasers, and photon localization, intracavity frequency conversion lasers, interaction between powerful pulses and matter, and optoelectronic detection. As the primary author or a coauthor, he has published more than 150 papers. He is a Member of Chinese Optical Society, the Optical Society of America, The International Society for Optical Engineering, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
