Rüdiger Weiner graduated from Mathematics at Kharkov State University in 1977 and received his doctoral degree (1981) and his habilitation (1989) from Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. Since 1993 he has been Professor for Scientific Computing at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg and was the Director of the Institute of Numerical Mathematics there for the period 1999-2006. He is a member of the Organizing Comitee of the International Series of Conferences ``NUMDIFF''. His research interests are the numerical solution of ordinary and time-dependent partial differential equations. Key words: Stiff differential equations, Krylov integrators, parallel methods for ODEs, general linear methods.
