Abraham Gedalia

Abraham Gedalia was born in 1943 in Tweridge (Hindiya), Iraq. He received his Medical degree in 1970 from the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his pediatric residency in 1978, at the Ben Gurion University Health Sciences Center, Beer Sheva, Israel. He completed his Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship under Dr. Earl J. Brewer, at Baylor College of Medicine, and Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston, Tex, in 1985. From 1992 to present, he has been serving as Professor and Head of the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and Children’s Hospital, New Orleans, Ill. USA. His principal areas of expertise include (i)rheumatic diseases in children: juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, juvenile dermatomyositis, rheumatic fever, and vasculitis in children; (ii) musculoskeletal pain syndromes in children: joint hypermobility, fibromyalgia, growing pains, and reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD); (iii) miscellaneous: childhood sarcoidosis, periodic fever syndromes, and brucellosis; (iv) general pediatrics.
