Janice M. Pluth

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA

Janice M. Pluth received her Ph.D. degree in microbiology and molecular genetics from the University of Vermont, Burlington, VT, USA. She is currently working as a Scientist at the Department of Cancer and DNA Damage Response, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, USA. She has a broad background in cytogenetics, DNA repair, and mutagenesis. Her overall interests encompass defining radiation-induced molecular and phenotypic changes effecting carcinogenesis. More specifically she is interested in understanding how various tissue types and differences in a cell’s microenvironment may affect this process. The role of stem cells and chromatin changes resulting from radiation exposure are areas of particular interest.
