Norman Cameron

N. Cameron was born in London, UK, in 1949. He received his B.S. degree (hons) in biological sciences from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK, in 1970, winning the undergraduate prize for that year. Norman studied for his D.Phil. in visual science at Sussex University, Brighton, UK, which was awarded in 1975. After postdoctoral studies at Sussex, Birmingham and Leeds Universities, he moved to the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, as a Lecturer in physiology in 1978. Currently, Cameron holds a Personal Chair in vascular neurobiology. Research interests are in the complications of diabetes mellitus, particularly related to the nervous and vascular systems in experimental models. He has served as Associate Editor for Diabetologia and is Editor-in-Chief of Current Diabetes Reviews. Norman has also been a member of the executive committee of NEUODIAB, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes group on diabetic neuropathy.
