Roberto A. Kraenkel

Roberto A. Kraenkel holds a Ph.D. degree in physics obtained in 1988 from the Institute for Theoretical Physics (IFT-UNESP), in São Paulo. He serves as a Professor at this institute since 1991. He has worked on nonlinear dynamics of waves, hydrodynamics, integrable systems, and solitons, Bose-Einstein condensates. Over the past years, he became interested in mathematical biology, with a focus in population dynamics, with applications in ecology and epidemiology. He has acted as an Invited Professor at the Universities of Montpellier, Marseille, and Lyon. Besides, he organizes an international school in mathematical biology every year in January/February.
