Klaus Sutner

Klaus Sutner holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich. After holding positions at Stevens Institute of Technology, USA, and the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation, Austria, he now teaches computer science and internal martial arts at Carnegie Mellon University; he is currently the associate dean of undergraduate programs in the School of Computer Science. His research interests include computability theory, automata theory, cellular automata and symbolic computation, in particular with a view towards applications in automata theory.
