Adolfo Senatore received the M.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Salerno, Italy, and the Ph.D. degree in tribology from the University of Pisa, Italy. He is the main Teacher of several courses at the University of Salerno and University of Benevento, Italy. He is currently conducting research on several topics including the effects of nanoparticles as friction modifier and antiwear additive, frictional torque transmission in automated dry clutch: mechatronic system analysis and clutch model for the control; lubrication modelling: hydrodynamic and mixed lubrication for piston rings, piston lateral dynamics, models for friction power loss assessment; dry friction contact and interface temperature raise: modelling and experiments; and rotordynamics: hydrodynamic lubrication in journal bearings, couple stress fluids effects, and rotor stability. He is a member of several committees including the Italian Tribology Association, Internship commission, and Life Long Program Erasmus commission for students’ international mobility.
