Tao Chen

Tao Chen has an M.D. degree and is an Associate Professor. He has been an endocrinologist for eight years at the Department of Endocrinology, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Sichuan, China, with major in diabetes mellitus and its complications. He has some experience in the etiologic study of diabetes pedigrees, in systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies and clinical trials, in the epidemic study of metabolic syndromes and type 2 diabetes mellitus, and in in vivo and in vitro studies about GGT, ferritin, oxidative stress, and islet beta-cell function and insulin resistance. He had done postdoctoral research on obesity related cancer, obesity, and polyunsaturated fatty acids from October 2008 to October 2009 in Cell Biology and Physiology of Pittsburgh University Medical Center. He gained a grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has already published 9 papers as the first author in international journals and Chinese national journals.
