David Parrish

David Parrish is Professor Emeritus of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, having retired from full-time efforts in 2010. He earned a Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, in 1976. His primary research interest for the last 35 years has been energy cropping systems. He has been particularly interested in the use of switchgrass. He was the lead Principle Investigator on the research proposal that first suggested to the U.S. Department of Energy the use of switchgrass as an energy crop.
