Jon-Lark Kim received the B.S. degree in mathematics from POSTECH, Pohang, Korea, in 1993, the M.S. degree in mathematics from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1997, and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics (advisor: Vera Pless) from the University of Illinois, Chicago, Ill, USA, in 2002. From 2002 to 2005, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Currently, he is an Associate Professor with the Department of Mathematics, University of Louisville, KY, USA. He was awarded a 2004 Kirkman Medal of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of both "Designs, Codes, and Cryptography'' and "International J. of Inform. and Coding Theory''. His areas of interest include algebraic coding theory and its interaction with Algebra, combinatorics, number theory, cryptography, and quantum information.
