Pietro Cipresso, a holder of a Ph.D. degree, is a Senior Researcher and Chief Technical Officer at Applied Technology for Neuro-Psychology Lab (ATN-P Lab) (Istituto Auxologico Italiano, Pioltello, Italy) and a Contract Professor of methods and techniques of tests at the Catholic University of Milan, Milan, Italy. Cipresso is the Series Editor of Transactions on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence, a book series published by Springer; the Associate Editor of the journal Frontiers in Quantitative Psychology and Measurement; the Associate Editor of the journal Frontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics; the Editor for Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group), PLoS ONE, and Advances in Human-Computer Interaction; the Section Editor (for public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics) of the Central European Journal of Medicine, published by Springer; the Statistical Advisor of BMC Psychology and BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making; the Assistant Editor of Complex Adaptive Systems Modeling, Springer; and the Associate Editor of the Open Access Books program in Psychology, published by De Gruyter Open. Cipresso has been a Visiting Researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA, and is a Principal Investigator or Coinvestigator of several international, European, and national projects in the fields of computational psychometrics, psychophysiology, emotions, brain computer interface (BCI), stress, and virtual reality. In particular Cipresso has been the coordinator of the NeuroVirtual 3D: Definition, Development and Testing of a 3D Simulation System for Applied Psychology and Neurorehabilitation research project funded by Piedmont for the 2012–2014 period.
