Franca Di Meglio

Franca Di Meglio is a University Researcher and Assistant Professor in human anatomy. She received her medical degree from the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cardiovascular Research Institute of the New York Medical College, USA, and earned her Ph.D. degree in experimental and human morphology from University of Bari, Italy. She began tutoring in cell biology and human anatomy and researching cardiovascular regenerative medicine, while continuing her medical education at the University of Naples “Federico II”, where she completed residency program in sports medicine. In 2006, she joined the faculty of the same university. Dr. Di Meglio’s research is focused on stem cells and myocardial regeneration, and her interests include cardiac stem cell and extracellular matrix biology in normal and pathological conditions, cell-matrix interactions, and methods for the enhancement of cardiac tissue regeneration.
