Ashley M. Buckle

Monash University, Australia

Ashley M Buckle is an NHMRC Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Monash University, Australia. He completed his Ph.D. degree in 1994 in the Laboratory of Sir Alan Fersht at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, undertaking research on the structural determination of protein-DNA and protein-protein complexes. As a Postdoctoral and then Staff Scientist at the MRC Centre Cambridge, Cambridge, UK, he made contributions to the understanding of protein stability, molecular recognition, and the action of molecular chaperones. At Monash since 2003, his research aimed at understanding how the structure and dynamics of proteins dictate their function. His Lab uses a multidisciplinary approach including protein crystallography, bioinformatics, software development, and molecular simulation.
