Christopher K. Cote received his Ph.D. degree in medical sciences (specializing in molecular microbiology) from the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, College of Medicine, the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, USA. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship from the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), USA. He now serves as a Principal Investigator in the Bacteriology Division at USAMRIID. His areas of expertise and research interests include Bacillus anthracis (spores, germination, pathogenesis, vaccines, and animal models), Yersinia pestis, Burkholderia mallei, and Burkholderia pseudomallei (animal models and vaccines), Bacteria-host interactions, vaccine formulation (including novel adjuvant strategies), and animal models of disease for bacterial pathogens.
