Michela Relucenti was born in Rome on June 7th, 1973. In November 1997, she obtained a degree in biological sciences cum laude (a five-year course, entitled: Genetics and Molecular Biology) at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy. In July 2004, she achieved the Ph.D. degree in human anatomy at the Department of Human Anatomy, University of Rome La Sapienza, followed by a two-year Postdoctorate on electron microscopy of reproduction. From November 2005 to October 2006, she worked for an educational project of Pre-University orientation at the Medical School. Since November 2006, she is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology at the University of Rome La Sapienza. Her main research field is electron microscopy, (both scanning and transmission electron microscopy) of biological samples, in particular human and animal tissues. She is also interested in Education, in particular in developing new teaching methods in Anatomy (for medical degree and for health professions).
