Fabio Guarracino

Fabio Guarracino was born in Naples, Italy, in 1964. He received the Medical degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Padua Medical School in 1988. From the some university, he also received Cardiology and Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine degrees. Since 1992, he was a Consultant in Cardiac Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the San Bortolo Hospital in Vicenza. Then, in 1994, he was a Consultant in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. From 1996 to 2002, Guarracino was the Director of Perioperative Echocardiography at the Mestre Hospital. Then, he became the Director of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the Pisa University Hospital. He is mainly interested in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, perioperative echocardiography, acute heart failure, and cardiovascular intensive care. Guarracino is an active member of several echo and anaesthesia and intensive care societies. He is a Member of scientific subcommittees at ESA and EACTA and is also a reviewer for several scientific peer-review journals. Guarracino held invited lectures on perioperative echocardiography and cardiovascular intensive care topics at international meetings and courses.
