Konstantinos A. Filis

Konstantinos A. Filis was born in Ioannina, Greece, in 1966. He received the M.D. and the Ph.D. degrees from the University of Athens Medical School, Greece, in 1990 and 1999, respectively. He was a resident in general surgery from 1993 to 1997 and in vascular surgery from 1997 to 2001 in Laikon Hospital, University of Athens Medical School. From 1998 to 1999, he served as a Visiting Fellow in vascular and endovascular surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Vascular Surgery Department, Montefiore Hospital, NY, USA. From 2001 to 2002, he became a Postdoctoral Fellow in endovascular surgery at Stanford University, Vascular Surgery Department, Calif, USA. Presently, he serves as an Assistant Professor of vascular surgery, University of Athens Medical School, Ippokrateio Hospital, Athens, Greece. He has written 50 presentations in international congresses and 72 in Greek congresses and 21 publications in Greek vascular journals and 28 in Greek book chapters or congress proceedings. He has also been an Invited Speaker/Chairman in 10 international and in 43 Greek congresses. He has been awarded in five congresses for his scientific work (second prize in World Congress of IUA, 2002, NY, USA).
