Albert Eid received his medical degree from the Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon, in 2000. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn, US. Subsequently, he did a Fellowship in infectious diseases at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, US. He joined the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kan, US, in July 2007 as an Assistant Professor. He is a board-certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. Dr Eid's clinical and research focus has been on infectious diseases in immunocompromised patients and specifically, stem cell and solid organ transplant recipients. On July 1st, 2011, he was promoted to Associate Professor.
