Sherwyn L. Schwartz is a Founder and the Vice President of Scientific Affairs of dgd Research, Inc. (now Cetero Research) as well as a Founder and the Medical Director of the Diabetes & Glandular Disease Clinic. He received a B.S. degree in 1968 and a medical degree in 1972 from the University of Illinois, Ill, USA. He served his internship and residency at Michael Reese Hospital from 1972 to 1975. He completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at St. Luke's Presbyterian Hospital from 1975 to 1976, where he also became an Instructor. Dr. Schwartz has held several academic appointments, including a Professor of endocrinology and general medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He has also been an endocrinology Consultant to Brook Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. Dr. Schwartz is board certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism. He is a Member of the American Diabetes Association, the Texas Diabetes Association, and The Endocrine Society as well as the medical advisor to numerous pharmaceutical companies and endocrinology foundations. Dr. Schwartz has conducted more than 1000 clinical trials and published more than 160 abstracts and articles in refereed medical journals.
