Bernhard J. Manger
Bernhard Manger received his medical degree from Erlangen Medical School, where he subsequently completed an internship at the Department of Dermatology. After graduation, he also completed an internship at Bamberg Municipal Hospital, Bamberg, Germany. Thereafter, he received his training in internal medicine and rheumatology at the Erlangen Medical School and the Department of Clinical Immunology/Rheumatology at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Manger is an Associate Professor of internal medicine and an Attending Physician of the Outpatient Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, Department of Medicine III, Erlangen Medical School, Erlangen, Germany. Dr. Manger is a member of several professional organizations, including the German Society of Immunology, the American Association of Immunologists, and the German Society for Rheumatology, at which he serves as the Chairman of the Pharmacotherapy Committee. He is a reviewer for many respected journals, including American Journal of Medicine, Arthritis and Rheumatism, and Journal of Rheumatology. Dr. Manger is an Editorial Board Member of Clinical Rheumatology, and is now the Editor-in-Chief of Aktuelle Rheumatologie. He has several fields of interest, including research on pathophysiology and new therapeutic strategies in autoimmune diseases as well as imaging in rheumatic diseases.
