Mohamed Abdel-Rehim received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden. Abdel-Rehim is a Professor in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry with more than a 25-year experience (R&D) in analytical and bioanalytical chemistry, having strong background and theoretical knowledge of separation sciences and state-of-the-art instrumentation related to chromatographic separation and mass spectrometry techniques. He worked as Senior Scientist at the Research & Development at AstraZeneca in Sodertalje, from 1996 to 2011, Sweden. In 2003, he was appointed as a Professor in analytical chemistry at the Karlstad University, Karlstad, Sweden. In 2007, he was appointed as a Visitor Professor at the National Research Centre of Egypt (NRC). In 2011, he was appointed as a Professor in analytical chemistry at Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden. The main focus of his research is inventing highly automated and integrated sample preparation techniques for the isolation of drugs and metabolites from complex matrices and screening and determination of drugs, metabolites, and biomarkers in biological samples. He has published over 200 publications (scientific papers, proceedings, patents, etc.).
