Ty S. Schepis is a Ph.D. degree holder and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Texas State University, San Marcos, TX, USA. He received his Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology in 2006 from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, DallaS, TX, USA. He was a National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT, USA. Dr. Schepis’ expertise is in the field of adolescent and young adult substance use, with particular emphases on smoking cessation and the roles of stress, impulsivity, and risk taking on cessation and the relationship between nonmedical prescription use and psychopathology. Dr. Schepis has 24 publications, with work published in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, Addiction, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Journal of Adolescent Health, and Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Nicotine and Tobacco Research. Dr. Schepis has received funding for research from the National Institute of Drug Abuse (USA) and the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas Foundation.
