Xiaobo Li

Xiaobo Li received her Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Toyama, Japan, in 1997. After completing two-year postdoctoral research in the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), China, and Pharmaceutical University, Jiangsu, China, she joined the faculty at the School of Pharmacy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, and became a Full Professor in 2003. She heads a research group of pharmacognosy, focusing on the areas of quality control and evaluation of TCMs, as well as principles and mechanisms of TCM bioactivity and effect. She holds adjunct professorships at Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, Shenyang, China, and Jiang Xi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanchang, China. She has been a Director of Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association, an Associate Director and Member of Biopharmaceutical Section of Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association, and a Director of Standing Committee for Chinese Medicine in China Association of Chinese Medicine. She is also an Associate Editor for Asian Journal of Traditional Medicines, Chinese Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Medical Formulae. In the past five years, Dr. Li has directed many projects, including the National Basic Research Program of China, State Natural Sciences Foundation Monumental Projects, national high-tech research and development projects, the plan for excellent younger teacher of Ministry of Education of China, and so forth. She has published over 60 papers and filed many patent applications.
