Alessandro Bevilacqua

Alessandro Bevilacqua was born in Bologna, Italy, in 1965. He received his M.S. degree in computer science in 1995 and his Ph.D. degree in electronics and computer science engineering in 2002 from the University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy. In addition, Bevilacqua works currently as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna, where he has been teaching image processing, fundamentals of computer science, and logic design. His research topics address image processing, pattern recognition, and high-performance computing. As for applicative domains, most of the interests regard biomedical and aerospace imaging. Moreover, Bevilacqua is a Member of the Advanced Research Centre on Electronic Systems (ARCES) and of the Department of Electronics, Computer Science, and Systems (DEIS), Faculty of Engineering, University of Bologna, where he leads the Computer Vision Group (http://cvg.deis.unibo.it). Bevilacqua is the author or coauthor of more than 90 papers in referred international journals and conference proceedings. He has coordinated several research and industrial projects funded by the Italian Government or private companies in the fields of image processing and machine vision.
