Federico Mussano

Federico Davide Mussano is currently Assistant Professor at the CIR Dental School, Department of Surgical Sciences, University of Turin. He got his DDS degree in 2004 at the School of Dentistry, University of Turin and his PhD in Dental Materials in 2009 at the same University, after attending the Weintraub Center for Reconstructive Biotechnology at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) for almost two years, under the mentorship of dr. Ichiro Nishimura. Dr. Mussano’s research activities focus on the design of clinical studies pertaining to the field of bone substitute materials and dental implants and the development and whole characterization of dental biomaterials and interfaces. He teaches Physiology and pathology of the mineralized tissues and holds PhD Seminars. Dr. Mussano is member of the International College of Prosthodontics. He co-founded a University of Turin Spin-off for the prototyping and production of innovative dental implants (Twocare s.r.l.). From 2011 to 2014 dr. Mussano was R&D director at Twocare s.r.l., where he followed the ISO certification of a ceramic dental implant and planned the Randomized Controlled Trial necessary for the pre-market certification according to the Eropean Medical Devices Directive 93/42/EEC. From 2014 to 2017 dr. Mussano served as CEO at Twocare s.r.l.
