Pierangelo Veltri serves as an Associate Professor in computer science at Biomedical and Bioinformatics Computer Engineering School, Magna Græcia University of Catanzaro, Italy. In 2002, he received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the IUT Orsay, France, with honors with a thesis entitled "A view mechanism for a large scale XML repository: design and implementation." In 1998, Veltri obtained the Laurea degree with honors in computer science engineering from the University of Calabria, Italy. From 1998 to 2002, he served as a Researcher at the INRIA Rocquencourt, France, in the Verso group. From 2002 to 2010, he worked as an Assistant Professor of computer engineering at Magna Græcia University of Catanzaro. He is the author of almost 30 journal papers and more than 60 papers presented in peer reviewed conference and published in conference proceedings. He is the Editor of ACM SIGHIT Record, the ACM Newsletter of the Special Interest Group in Health Informatics. His research interests include bioinformatics, protein predictions, protein-protein interaction predictions, and health informatics. He also interested in database research topics.
