Xian-Fang Li

Xian-Fang Li is currently a Full Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at Central South University, China. Li was born in Hunan, China, in 1964. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Science & Technology Beijing, China, and Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 1987 and 1999, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2001 to 2004 in the National University of Defense Technology, China, and He was a Research Associate at the Yonsei University, South Korea, in 2003 and 2008, the Vanderbilt University, USA, from 2004 to 2005, and the University of Sydney, Australia, from 2007 to 2008. He has published over 100 papers in international journals including Appl. Phys. Lett., J. Mech. Phys. Solids, and so forth. His research interests include fracture mechanics; waves, vibration, and stability analysis of multiscale materials and structures; mechanical behavior and optimization design of new materials and structures.
