John W. Creemers

John W. Creemers is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Director of Doctoral School Biomedical Sciences at the KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium). He received his M.S. degree in chemistry at the KU Nijmegen (Nijmegen, The Netherlands) and his Ph.D. degree at the KU Leuven. He subsequently performed research in the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK) and The Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes (University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, CO, USA), before becoming the Head of the Laboratory of Biochemical Neuroendocrinology at KU Leuven. His research focuses on protein maturation, trafficking, and secretion in the regulated secretory pathway. Most of the research uses unique patient material as a starting point and is situated between clinical genetics and basic research.
