Shaoqing Wang

Shaoqing Wang was born in Hebei, China, in 1963. He received his B.S. degree of physics from the Shandong University, Jinan, China, in 1984 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science from the Institute of Metal Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Shenyang, China, respectively, in 1986 and 1992. From 1992 to 1996, Wang was a Staff Member in the Laboratory of Atomic Imaging of Solids, IMR CAS. From 1997 to 1998, he was a Royal Research Fellow in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy, University of Cambridge. In December 1998, Wang was promoted as a Professor of IMR CAS. He had been a Visiting Scientist in the Institute of Physical Metallurgy and Metal Physics, RWTH, Germany, and the Department of Nuclear Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, respectively, in 2003 and 2004. Presently, he is a Professor in Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science, IMR CAS. He is mainly interested in computational materials science, specifically first-principles calculations of various Physical and Chemical properties of Materials. He is a Council Member in the Chinese Computational Physics Society and the Committee of the Chinese Society of Computational Materials Science. He is in the editorial board of two international academic journals in Condensed Mater Physics.
