Seshadri Mohan serves currently as a Professor and the Chair of Systems Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). Prior positions include CTO of IP SerVonix, Telsima, and Comverse, Senior Research Scientist at Telcordia, and Member of the Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. Besides these positions, his academic experience includes serving as an Associate Professor at Clarkson and Wayne State Universities. Dr. Mohan has authored/coauthored over 90 publications in the form of books, patents, and papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has coauthored the textbook Source and Channel Coding: An Algorithmic Approach and has contributed to Mobile Communications Handbook and The Communications Handbook. He holds eleven US and international patents in wireless. He received the SAIC Publication Prize for Information and Communications Technology. He has served on the Editorial Boards of IEEE Personal Communications, IEEE Surveys, and is currently serving as an Associate Editor of IEEE Communications Magazine. He has chaired sessions in many international conferences and workshops. He has also served as a Guest Editor for several special issues of IEEE Network, IEEE Communications Magazine, and ACM MONET. He was nominated for 2006 GWEC’s Global Wireless Educator of the Year Award and the IEEE Region 5 Outstanding Educator Award and was selected the runner up for both. Dr. Mohan holds a Ph.D. degree in ECE from McMaster University, the Mastersn M.S. degree in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, and the Bachelors degree in electronics and telecommunications from the University of Madras, India.
