Stamatios A. Papadakis

Stamatios A. Papadakis was born in Athens, Greece, in 1962. He is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the D’ Department of Orthopaedics, “KAT” Hospital, Athens, Greece. He received his M.D. degree and the Ph.D. degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He undertook basic surgical training in Athens and he continued his orthopaedic training at the A’ Orthopaedic Department of Athens University. In 1998, he obtained the Greek title of Specialization in Ortopaedics and Traumatology, after taking the final examination. In the same year, he was trained in endoscopic spinal surgery in Kassel, Germany. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Spine Fellow at the A’ Orthopaedic Department of Athens University. Since 2000, he has been appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at NHS, Greece. In 2002, he completed a one-year Clinical Research Fellowship in Trauma Service in Los Angeles, USA, at the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Papadakis has numerous publications in journals and books in his field. He is on the editorial board of a number of National journals and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology. He is also, an Active Member for Athens Medical Association, Hellenic Foundation of Osteoporosis, Hellenic Society for the Study of Bone Metabolism, and Hellenic Spine Society. Dr. Papadakis is a Founding Member of the National Health Operations Centre, a branch of health enterprises of the Greek Ministry of Health and Social Solidarity and has participated as a Representative of the Greek government, in numerous medical and humanitarian missions worldwide.
