Raseelo J. Moitsheki is a Professor of applied mathematics at the School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Moitsheki obtained his B.S. (ED) degree from the North-West University, Mafikeng Campus, Mmabatho, South Africa, and a D.Phil. degree in applied mathematics from the University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia. Moitsheki’s current research interests include but are not limited to construction of exact (group-invariant) solutions using Lie symmetry methods and approximate analytical solutions given in terms of Taylor series. Within the Lie symmetry techniques, Moitsheki is interested in applications of classical Lie point symmetries, nonlocal symmetries, nonclassical symmetries, conservation laws, nonclassical potential symmetries, and equivalence transformations. Moitsheki is interested in solutions of applied differential equations that arise from population dynamics, heat transfer, groundwater pollution, and solute/contaminant transport. Moitsheki is a registered Professional Natural Scientist and he is also an accredited Member of the Australian Mathematical Society.
