Lorenzo Monfardini

Lorenzo Monfardini holds an M.D. degree. Monfardini is a Junior Member of the Interventional and Cardiovascular Radiology Society (CIRSE) since more than five years and Fellow since two years. He serves as a Senior Assistant in the Unit of Interventional Radiology of European Institute of Oncology, Milan, Italy. Monfardini focused on interventional oncology procedures mainly with the whole charge of the patient that is referred to him even as an inpatient. During the last ten years, Monfardini developed a new clinical role for interventional radiology in cancer center that is receiving growing attention mainly from surgeons. Since the end of the fellowship at the Radiological School of Milan, Milan, Italy, his main field of expertise has been interventional radiology in oncology, but even with the required skills in diagnostic radiology trained in the routinary practice. Another key point is multimodal approach to the patients that has been developed working close together with oncologists and surgeons. In addition to more than thirty publications, he also contributed to writing clinical guidelines in neuroendocrine gastrointestinal tumours treatment for CIRSE as well as different protocols research.
