Magnus Jobs

Dr. Magnus Jobs (born 1969) grew up in Dala-Järna, a small village in the county of Dalarna, central Sweden. Magnus took a teachers degree at Uppsala University 1997 for teaching in mathematics and natural science and a year later (1998) a Master of Science degree (MSc) in molecular biology. Magnus continued studying molecular biology at Karolinska Institute (Stockholm) and 2003 he defended his doctoral thesis on technology development for genome analysis. Since then Magnus has held a position as assistant professor at Högskolan Dalarna (Dalarna University), teaching medical science and, as head of department, developing the subject medical science at the University. Magnus has also done several years (2007 to present) of postdoctoral research at Uppsala University and at Högskolan Dalarna, doing method development for multiplex detection of infectious agents and taking active part in epidemiological research on cardiovascular disease.
